A Precious Urban Green Space for all New Yorkers

Join us to petition the MTA to reinstate the buses from South Bronx and Queens to this precious green space and improve the Manhattan bus operation

“There is a significant dearth of transportation and housing options for those on Randalls and Wards Islands. Just one MTA bus exists and it runs on a limited schedule and essentially only to drop-off clinics on 125th Street in Harlem. Options and opportunities must be expanded. “ – Senator Cordell Cleare

Join us and Elected Officials to ask MTA to increase public transportation options to go to Randall’s Island. Reinstating the cancelled bus routes from Queens and The Bronx to the Island, e.g., BX21 and M34 would be an important step to allow more communities to access jobs and recreation to Randall’s Island. With over four million visitors to Randall’s Island yearly, despite limited public transportation options, the need for more robust and reliable quality public transit to Randall’s Island is clear.

While we applaud the City’s tremendous investments of recreational activities on the island over the last few decades, mainly through Randall’s Island Park Alliance, it would be a missed opportunity if the public cannot access the island.

” We are asking you to take radical steps to turn this line around.  Do what the MTA does best: connect it.  Take advantage of the Triborough Bridge, and give Queens, Bronx, and East Harlem residents accessible access to Randall’s and Wards’ Island.”
